The next big challenge on the horizon is the Belfast Marathon, and the goal is straightforwardly to get round it, and to do so a bit faster than the current PB (3:46:50). Training has gone well so far, and I’ve even managed to have a bit of fun during the deload phase by having a go at running 5km as fast as I possibly can. (Answer: 19 mins, 45 seconds!) I’m still stubbornly clocking in at 112kg, so the last 10km of the marathon fills me with a bit of trepidation, but I know I’ll get round it … More soon!
